Han With A Van is a female-led, queer-friendly removals network covering the whole of the UK. We take your enquiry, put your quote together and match you with a DREAMY local mover to help you on the day. All the movers in our network are self-employed, drive their own vans, live all over the country, and every one of them was lovingly gathered and trained by our founder, Hannah.
Hannah’s story, in her own words
I started Han With A Van for a slightly selfish reason, and because I thought it could be fun. Today it’s turned into something extraordinary.
I’m a theatre producer and a business coach by trade, and back in early 2025 my work was almost entirely online. I loved it, but as a self-employed, single woman living alone, I could easily go three days without leaving the house or moving my body. I wanted activity. Something with an instant payoff, that got me out into the world being useful to actual people in real time. I’d spent years hauling theatre set and props around - including running an annual van-share up to the Edinburgh Fringe - so I already knew I loved big vans and long drives. So I gave it a go.
What happened next kinda blew my mind. The minute I posted about my idea in various Facebook groups, women came forward in their hundreds with their stories. Men who turned up hours late, who rushed them, who made creepy comments, who messaged them afterwards, at eleven at night, knowing their new addresses and how to get in.
I don’t think “women” should be a niche of anything in this day and age. It’s insane. But here I was, with this insane demand on my hands that wasn’t being met and a deep, almost rebellious desire to change that.
So I did. Hundreds of moves, in and out of flats, houses, storage units and brand new chapters, until there were more bookings than little old me and my one van could possibly handle. I looked at the messages pouring in, and I decided I couldn’t be the only woman who could do this job. I had to go and find other brilliant humans, and make this option one that women and queer folk all across the country could benefit from, whenever they needed it.
And here we are today, with a country-wide network. I interview every single person who applies to be a mover, and not everyone makes the cut. Not necessarily because they can’t lift or drive the big vans, but because this job is really about making a stranger feel safe in her own home on one of the most stressful days of her year. I can teach anybody to load a van properly, but I can’t teach that. You either have that, or you don’t.
The ones who have it get taught everything I’ve learned over 200+ moves. And I’m so proud to send them out to you, knowing that your new chapter gets to start with zero stress and plenty of giggles.

Hannah still interviews every mover herself and runs the whole operation. The office handles everything around your move: the enquiry, your questions, the quote, finding your mover, and the money.
